Bakery China 2026 Successfully Concludes: Promoting Global Integration and Innovation in the Baking Industry

Shanghai – The 28th Bakery China exhibition successfully concluded at the Shanghai Congress and Exhibition Center on May 23, 2026. This exhibition, a landmark event in the global baking and confectionery industry, was held for four days. This year's exhibition theme is "Innovation Beyond • First Launch of Integration • Connecting the Future."

The event attracted participation from 2,267 brands and companies from 79 countries and regions, showcasing over 10,000 products and attracting nearly 400,000 professional visitors from 144 countries. The China Baking and Confectionery Industry Association and Bakery China Exhibition Co., Ltd. jointly organized this event.

Zhang Jugui, Chairman of the industry association, stated that Bakery China will continue to support the high-quality development of the baking industry by promoting business matching, trend insights, resource integration, skill enhancement, brand display, and global exchange.

Expanding Global Connections Bakery China 2026 further solidified its international status, with participation from international brands and enterprises exceeding 20%, including brands from Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, the United States, and South Korea. The exhibition focused on the "Belt and Road Baking Theme Area," promoting the achievements of this initiative in terms of ingredients and technology. Cross-cultural fusion activities, such as "Combining Western Techniques with Traditional Chinese Baking" and "Integrating Chinese Flavors into Western Pastries," became highlights of the exhibition, with the number of overseas buyers increasing by over 60%, reflecting the growing global appeal of the Chinese baking industry.

Supporting Chinese Brands to Go Global Bakery China launched the "Go Global" forum for the first time, discussing issues such as international compliance and certification, Halal certification, adaptation to local supply chains, overseas channel development, and cross-cultural brand communication, providing practical references for Chinese baking enterprises to develop overseas markets.

Showcasing Industry Innovation

Thousands of new products and technologies were showcased during the exhibition. The Bakery China Innovation Awards recognized 136 products from 122 companies, covering various fields such as raw materials, equipment, and packaging. The new product launch week further cemented the exhibition's position as a barometer for industry innovation.

Focus on Chocolate and Smart Manufacturing

The exhibition also launched the "Chocolate China 2026" special exhibition area, spanning 30,000 square meters, bringing together over 150 global cocoa and chocolate enterprises covering the entire chocolate industry chain. The exhibition focused on cutting-edge trends such as smart manufacturing, healthy eating, and clean labels, including fully automatic AI baking production lines and AI visual quality control systems, demonstrating the industry's shift towards automation, traceability, and higher efficiency.

Cai Yicheng, Chairman of the Malaysian Baking and Confectionery Association, stated that Bakery China is an excellent platform to understand industry trends, gain inspiration, and source products.
