The 28th Bakery China 2026 concluded on May 23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The exhibition brought together 2,267 brands and enterprises from 79 countries and regions, covered an exhibition area of more than 330,000 square meters, and for the first time launched Chocolate China 2026 and a “Going Global” themed forum.

Shanghai, China—The 28th Bakery China 2026 concluded on May 23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai. Organizers said the exhibition further consolidated its position as a key exchange platform for the global baking and confectionery industry.
This edition was co-hosted by the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd. The four-day event had the theme “Innovate Beyond • Premiere Fusion • Link Future”. The exhibition area exceeded 330,000 square meters, with 2,267 brands and companies from 79 countries and regions exhibiting and more than 10,000 products on display; during the same period, it welcomed nearly 400,000 professional visitors from 144 countries and regions.
Zhang Jiukui, Chairman of the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry, said: “Bakery China will continue to empower the high-quality development of the baking industry, providing support in business matchmaking, trend insights, resource integration, skills upgrading, brand exposure, and global exchange.”
International participation further increased
International companies and brands accounted for more than 20% of exhibitors, with exhibiting brands from markets including Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, the United States, South Korea, and others.
The “Belt and Road Baking Theme Zone” set up at the exhibition showcased raw materials and techniques from relevant countries and regions. East-West fusion products and technologies became one of the focal points on site, such as “Western pastries with Chinese flavors” and “Chinese baking with Western techniques.” Data released by organizers showed that the number of overseas buyers at this edition increased by more than 60%, reflecting the continued appeal of China’s baking market to international buyers.
First-ever “Going Global” themed forum
Bakery China 2026 held a “Going Global” themed forum for the first time, covering topics such as international compliance certification, halal certification, local supply chain adaptation, overseas channel development, and cross-cultural brand communication, providing practical references for Chinese baking companies expanding into overseas markets.
Innovative achievements showcased in a concentrated manner
During the exhibition, thousands of new products and technologies were displayed. The Bakery China Innovation Award selected 136 products from 122 companies, covering categories such as ingredients, equipment, and packaging. The concurrently held “New Product Launch Week” further strengthened the exhibition’s positioning as an industry innovation bellwether.
Chocolate special exhibition and smart manufacturing become highlights
This edition launched Chocolate China 2026, a specialized chocolate industry exhibition, for the first time, with an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, bringing together more than 150 cocoa and chocolate companies worldwide and covering key links in the chocolate industry chain.The main trends presented on-site included smart manufacturing, healthy eating, and clean labels. Displays of technologies such as fully automated AI baking production lines and AI visual quality control systems reflected the industry’s direction of advancing automation, traceability, and production efficiency.
Cai Yi Cheng, Chairman of the Malaysia Bakery and Confectionery Federation, said: “Bakery China is a world-class baking exhibition and an excellent platform for understanding industry trends, gaining inspiration, and sourcing products.”
Upcoming Exhibition Schedule
The organizer introduced that following this edition, the inaugural Bakery ASEAN exhibition will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 27 to 29. In addition, the 11th Bakery China Autumn and the 9th China Home Baking Exhibition will be held from October 22 to 24 at the Wuhan International Expo Center, and related exhibition information will be released gradually through official channels.
